The Civil Association Casa Taller Delfín arises from the deep desire of the artist Víctor Delfín Ramírez to preserve and project the cultural legacy of his Casa Taller, located in the district of Barranco, Lima.
Over the years, and in multiple conversations with his descendants, Delfín expressed his desire to form an association that would ensure the continuity of the spirit of this space - built and sustained with effort, passion and conviction - as a testimony of a life dedicated to art and civic commitment.
The Casa Taller was not only a space for personal creation. It was also a place of encounter, critical thinking, celebration and resistance. Artists, intellectuals, human rights defenders and political exiles were welcomed there. Concerts, book presentations, plays and exhibitions were held, turning the Casa Taller into a living landmark of contemporary Peruvian culture.
Aware of its symbolic and material value, Delfín considered it a moral obligation to preserve the integrity and spirit of the Casa, trusting that his wishes would be respected and projected into the future. He also expressed his wish that the collection of works housed in the Casa -both his own and those of other distinguished masters- as well as its valuable library, be integrated to the Association's purposes and be at the service of the public.
The Casa Taller Delfín Civil Association is thus constituted as a family and collective initiative aimed at protecting, preserving and sharing this legacy with present and future generations, honoring the desire and vision of Víctor Delfín.
